The Reproductive Health Manager is the focal point for PSI/PNGs reproductive health activities in Vanimo of the West Sepik Province in Papua New Guinea; s/he reports to the Program Director and works closely with the HMM Project team for specific program sites. The Reproductive Health Manager ensures the implementation of good quality reproductive health program activities, in accordance with national and international standards. The HMM Project is implemented through a network of community volunteers and with a funding from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM).
Start Date: September 1, 2014 for a period of 2 years.
Key duties include:
• Manage the set up and implementation of Reproductive Health activities in West Sepik province
• Manage and supervise all reproductive health staff based working under the West Sepik HMM program
• Ensuring that all stated reproductive health goals and objectives are met, that projects are monitored and evaluated, and that reports are submitted in a timely manner.
• Developing innovative ideas to improve performance in the key areas of reproductive health activity areas.
• Proper reproductive health data recording in PSI-supported facilities, compilation of data and production of reproductive health reports in a regular and timely manner.
• Continuously assessing reproductive health needs and suggesting new projects to address identified unmet needs.
• Constant and active coordination with the Malaria Implementer.
Partnership & Representation
• Facilitate the signing of memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the PDoH
• Ensure good rapport with PDoH and District level government authorities and other development key stakeholders
• Represent PSI at relevant meetings with project partners, governmental authorities and other stakeholders in West Sepik province.
• Support the different Directors in rolling out specific policies, procedures and implementing strategic decision in order to achieve the set targets.
Reporting:
• Ensure timely submission of monthly stock review from Vanimo to POM and facilitate consolidation if/when needed
• Timely report to CR on any safety and security incident that might occurs in the project area of intervention
• Contribute to the quarterly internal progress reports to DC
• Ensure proper filing and archiving system in Vanimo
• Quarterly RH program progress report to be submitted and discussed with local provincial authorities (PDoH).
• Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely quarterly reports for submission to the donor.
Qualification:
Essential:
- Four-year degree from a higher education institution
- Demonstrated success in program management
- Extensive knowledge of the malaria situation in PNG
- Knowledge of the PNG government system and organization
- Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Computer literate
Desirable:
- Experience with an NGO
- Experience in public health community based programming in PNG
- Public presentation skills
- Human resources management experience
