The Organization
ActionAid International Haiti is part of the ActionAid International Federation. It has been in Haiti since 1997 and works with the poor, children, women and marginalized people to improve their lives towards a life of dignity. ActionAid International Haiti has recently approved its Strategy for 2013-2017, ‘Strengthening Solidarity to Build a new Haiti’, which reaffirms the organizational commitment to a human rights-based approach to development.
The Position
We are looking for a committed and inspirational Country Director: to lead and implement the strategic mission and country strategy and lead on providing quality program management and accountability systems; organizational and team development; governance development and management; financial control and resource management; fundraising and liaison with donors to increase and diversify the resource base; policy, research and advocacy; relationship and stakeholder management at both national and international levels.
Qualification & Experience
The candidate must have a proven track record in leading and managing institutions, development programs and have experience of either being part of social movements or being an active member of the civil society. The candidate must hold a graduate degree in social sciences, development studies or a development related field. S/He should be committed to gender equity, empowering management practices, be value driven and possess strong networking, people and financial management skills. S/He will have the perspectives and competencies for fundraising and donor relations; regional and international linkages and a sound basis of organizational development. Sound awareness of the political, social, economic and historic environment in which ActionAid's poverty alleviation programmes are operating at both national and community levels.The candidate must have excellent communication skills and proficiency in English and French with Creole an added advantage.
