We are looking for: A HEAD OF NUTRITION AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Country: Bangladesh, based in Dhaka
Length of Contract: 12 months, starting until the 05/04/2014
Responsibilities: To lead the implementation, review and update of the country nutrition strategy and annual action plan in collaboration with nutrition team members and support from the Country Director. The Head of Nutrition and Health Department will be responsible for:
Design, develop and evaluate actions in the field of nutrition and health
- Collect and quality control of monitoring, follow up and evaluation data
- Maintain quality for the nutritional situation analysis
- Assess the standard of nutritional and medical proposals submitted by his/her teams
- Encourage his/her teams to identify new programmes
- Develop an ACF nutrition and health strategy specific to the mission
Monitor and coordinate programmes in the fields of nutrition and health
- Launch nutritional surveys in liaison with the Country Director
- Develop integrated (inter-disciplinary) approach programmes
- Collect and anlysedata, including the decisions making on this basis
- Provide timely and high quality activity reports
- Monitoring all the consolidated programme budgets relating to nutrition and health allocated to the country
Manage the Nutrition and Health team in capital and bring technical support to the Nutrition and Health Program Managers
- Evaluate of the technical performance and skills of Programme Managers
- Develop the technical skills of Nutrition and Health teams
Develop and launch programmes in collaboration with governmental, UN, international and local agencies
- Disseminate ACF’s nutrition and health strategy at country level to partners and funding bodies
- Develop and maintain a network of harmonious and productive relationships with national representatives and programme partners
Represent ACF and its positioning in the field of nutrition and health
- Represent ACF in dealings with national and international authorities on matters of health and nutrition
- Make national and international authorities fully aware of the ACF positions and protocols
Qualification and previous experience: : Degree in nutrition, nursing or medical doctor with demonstrated and diversified experience in managing health and nutrition programs in the field, preferably in a coordination position. A strong experience in working at National level in nutrition/health policy development is compulsory.A previous experience with ACF is a major asset, as well as significant field experience in emergency nutrition and health programs, including undertaking assessment, designing and implementing programs and M&E and writing proposals, concept notes and reports.Successful applicants will have a proven track record of setting up strong relationship and trust within the community and stakeholders of the programs. Capacity to train and capacity build Deputy Department Heads required.Excellent knowledge of Community Therapeutic Care, SMART and CMAM guidelines.Excellent command of English required.
Status: Employee - Total average yearly gross income : from 44910€ to 51410€- Fixed-term contract, provided by ACF according to the French legislation.- All expenses paid on the field: o Support to the R & R costs : 110€/month averageo Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460€/ month average,o Collective or individual accommodation depending on position : 700€/month averageo Food and hygiene expenses (living allowance) : 266€/monthso Per Diem : 162 €/months- Gross monthly salary ranging from €1805 to €2305 (13rd month included), depending on relevant experience- Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution- 25 days of annual paid leaves- 20 days of extra leaves per year (taken as recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission) - Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris
