United Arab Emirates: Team Leader and Aid Policy Specialist – 1 year contract - UAE

About the role:
The Team Leader has prime responsibility for the planning and delivery of the services and will be the main contact with the programme and the Managing Contractor. The Team Leader will establish close working relationships with staff and develop good working relationships with foreign aid stakeholders in UAE.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review of the draft policy and strategy statements and benchmarking of policy and strategy with other donors,
- Preparation of the strategic assessment of existing UAE policy and strategy and drafting of indicative coverage of future policy and strategy,
- Preparation of the road map for policy and strategy development,
- Preparation of the draft Foreign Aid Policy White Paper and the draft Foreign Aid Strategy,
- Preparation of the draft periodic aid evaluation and policy and strategy review framework
- Manage the timely production and submission of all deliverables, the presentation of findings and recommendations and progress reporting to client and GRM
- Manage the process of obtaining client feedback on deliverables, findings and recommendations and their finalisation.
- Undertake other tasks as reasonably required for the efficient and effective delivery of the services to the satisfaction of the client
- Report as required to the GRM Project Director on any and all matters pertaining to service delivery

About You
Selection criteria
- A minimum of 20 years’ experience in international development,
- Experience in foreign aid policy and strategy formulation at a senior level,
- Experience in managing the delivery of development assistance,
- Experience in managing the delivery of humanitarian assistance,
- Advisory services management experience,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred
