Background informationWith the existing health/medical expertise and capacity, and two years of implementation and presence in migration health in Somalia, International Organization for Migration (IOM) Somalia is scaling up its migration health programme in the country, particularly in the areas of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Tuberculosis, Malaria, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)/Environmental Health (EH), Maternal and Child Health (MCH), emergency medical service and psychosocial support to vulnerable migrants and mobile populations (MMPs) and their affected host communities. In this context, while IOM continues to implement existing HIV prevention and WASH/EH projects, IOM is also starting new projects to provide psychosocial support to and protection of MMPs especially vulnerable women against Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV), and to improve access to basic healthcare services through strengthening the referral systems and setting up a migrant-friendly one-stop health service centre on the existing health facilitiesThe Programme Assistant will required to offer administrative, logistics and some programme support to the Migration Health Department (MHD) Team in managing the IOM Migration Projects in close collaboration with Government stakeholders, implementing partners (IPs), UN partners, IOM consultants and colleagues, under the overall supervision of the Public Health Officer in Mogadishu, the Senior National Health programme Officers and the Programme Manager in Nairobi, the Programme Assistant provide assistance to the MHD team in Mogadishu as well as work closely with the rest of the IOM administrative and finance support staff in Mogadishu.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:In particular, s/he will:• Receive and check all incoming invoices, prepare the payment request form when necessary. Verify invoices and documents submitted by suppliers and service providers and make sure that IOM’s rules and regulations are followed;• Review and submit to MHD Nairobi all financial documentation relating to partners and staff, ensuring that signed official invoices/receipts and other supporting documentation is attached to all payment requests;• Maintain an efficient filing system of all financial and other supporting documents;• Responsible for preparing and submitting fund request for all active projects.

Education, experience and competencies:1) Undergraduate degree or diploma from an accredited university in business administration, resource management, and/or related fields. Public Health and/or Environmental Health an asset 2) 3-5 years’ experience3) Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity in performing responsibilities assigned.4) Previous experience with UN and International Agencies, international or local NGOs is required.5) Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.6) Somali National7) A thorough knowledge of written and spoken English and Somali is required.8) Must have a valid passport that allows travel within the East African and Horn region.
