Job Summary:This is a senior position responsible for coordinating and performing project management, administrative and technical tasks necessary for achieving project objectives for HIAS’s implementing partnership with UNHCR.
Reports to:The Regional Director
Main Duties & Responsibilitieso Involved in initiation and implementation of projects.
o Administers or provides oversight to various phases of all projects, including initial planning activities and feasibility determination, project approval and regulatory compliance, project implementation, and review and evaluation.
o Developing leadership and project management competencies of relevant staff.
o Coordinate logistical and administrative support for all project tasks and activities.
o Manage all project administrative, budgetary and logistical operations and monitor daily progress to ensure the work being performed is on schedule, on budget, and in alignment with the project work plan and agreement
o Continuously manage partner expectations to ensure delivery of the highest quality service.
o Ensure that team members understand the scope of the project and their respective responsibilities
o Actively monitor project issues/risks to foresee and identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address them in advance
o Provide status updates and reports to management and partners on project expenses and alignment with contractual obligations
o Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating needed actions to management, discovering irregularities; determining continuing needs.
o Preparing, analysing, controlling and reporting of financial budgets.
o Work closely with senior management.
o Representing Regional Director in meetings
o Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
o Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities or related field from a recognised institution.
o Professional qualification in Project and/or Program Management.
Skills and Competencies
o Technically competent with various software programs, such as MS Office suite and Program Management software.
o Experience in working with NGO’s particularly a refugee centre is a distinctive advantage.
o Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
o Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
o Flexible during times of change.
o Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
o Ability to work with diverse population.
Language
o Strong written and oral communication skills
