Position: Water and Sanitation Team Leader
Location: Juba, South Sudan
Duration: Long-term
Summary: AECOM International Development seeks a Water and Sanitation Team Leader for an anticipated USAID-funded multi-year project intended to increase access to water and sanitation in rural communities in Western and Central equatorial states. The project will work with government agencies to improve and expand access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services, including facilitating private sector investment, establishing community managed systems, promoting hygiene behavior change and empowering women to take on leadership roles. The Water and Sanitation Team Leader will have overall responsibility for the technical direction and implementation of water and sanitation activities, as well as ensuring achievement of programmatic results and timely completion of deliverables. The Water and Sanitation Team Leader must demonstrate exceptional technical and managerial experience, including managing complex rural WASH programs involving multiple program partners, and activities related to participatory planning, systems development and rehabilitation, capacity building, public-private partnerships and gender mainstreaming.
Qualifications:
•At least 10 years of experience implementing international development projects, preferably for USAID
•Subject matter expertise in the delivery of water supply AND sanitation services,. Additional expertise in capacity building or a related subject matter is preferable
•Familiarity with the political, social, and cultural context of South Sudan
•Demonstrated experience working with local organizations and international, non-governmental organizations to achieve sustainable service delivery
•Masters degree in public health, engineering (civil or environmental), community development or related field
•Exceptional written and oral communications skills in English
