Head of Technical SupportSana’a, Yemen£25,094 - £33,938 per annum plus Hard-to-Work allowance £4,000 per annum, relocation support and living expenses allowance (up to USD 3,900 per annum)

The roleBuilding and heading up a team of technical experts, it’ll be down to you to feed your knowledge into the development of our country strategy and programme designs across Yemen, with the purpose of delivering positive change. It’s about integrating both humanitarian response programmes and development into a one programme approach - driving improvements to the technical quality of every programme – ensuring compliance with donor contractual obligations, monitoring and evaluating ongoing performance and incorporating learning where necessary. So implementing a performance management system for all direct reports, you’ll put clear objectives in place to drive the highest levels of success across the board. And in doing so, you’ll strengthen our capacity to meet the needs of poor and vulnerable people in the country.
What we’re looking forA strong leader, you’ll have a proven ability to challenge, motivate and inspire a team through periods of programme change. With experience in both development programmes and complex humanitarian situations, you’ll have the skills and expertise to successfully integrate into a one-programme-approach. And as well as working with significant levels of autonomy, you’ll know how to combine your knowledge with others to develop strategy into action. That might be where you’ve gained your ability to be flexible and adaptable in a high-risk environment – as well as your sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts. If you can add knowledge of the Yemeni and Middle Eastern cultures, this is the ideal opportunity to use those specialist skills helping those who need it most.
