As Head of Mobile VAS & Internet Nigeria you will lead on the mobile elements of a new research study which is the office’s first mobile-focused project.
Role Responsibility
You will manage research that develops the charity’s understanding of the mobile sector in Nigeria needed to design a set of appropriate Mhealth services and tools for Nigeria. This role will expect you to develop the functional and technical specifications of any mobile interventions for an Mhealth platform. You’ll need to recruit and manage the mobile and Internet team. You will also undertake mobile industry research and develop business models and cases for work with mobile operators. The position also requires you to maintain contractual relationships with the telecommunications industry, including identifying potential platforms, approaches and partnerships for multi-media outputs. You will work within timelines and budgets. You’ll establish successful strategic relationships with trade associations and other organisations or the mobile industry. The role will also expect you to keep abreast of technical and editorial developments. You will represent the ICT elements of the project at conferences. This role also needs you to develop corporate partnerships to ensure financial sustainability and scale up of any potential services.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have knowledge and experience of designing and managing mobile Value Add services. You’ll also have a deep understanding of working with Mobile Operators, mobile aggregators and content providers in developing countries. You will have the ability to manage the design and development of IVR services in developing countries in a Product Management role. You will have a strong background in user-centred product design with experience of designing and implementing market research. You’ll have in-depth understanding of market dynamics and competition in the mobile/telecoms industries. This role also requires you to have the skills and ability to build local teams overseas.
