Description of Core Logistician Responsibilities

General:
• To actively contribute to the organizations values, principles and mandate;
• To share information with the Project Team on logistical and technical matters;
• To follow organizations protocols and procedures.
• Maintenance, rehabilitation and construction support to program
• Participation in NGO community activities and advocate for target population.

Timely and efficient execution of construction, rehabilitation and maintenance work:
• Provide tech log support to infrastructure
• Management of support services
• Maintenance of office

Overall Logistics Management
• Human Resources Management for logistical staff, training/development and task management and in particular making operational newly recruited staff and ensuring operational autonomy among the supervised teams
• Implementation of operational security management as delegated by the director, which include management and improvement of hardware (buildings, equipment) and software (HR) security/safety in movements and infrastructures
• Improve computer IT systems and data management in the organization
• Reporting:
• Monthly logistics reporting to the supervisor

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL
• Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
• Minimum of 3 months travel and/or work experience in a developing country or similar environment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Technical skills in the following fields:
o Construction of buildings: planning and technical implementation
o Vehicle mechanics
o Communications
• Experience in supervising and training others
• Ability to cope with stress
• Ability to act as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
• Willingness to be present in unstable environments
• Availability for a minimum of 6 months

Participants need to pay the cost of their flight, food, accommodation for the six month period of placement.
