The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Report Officer at P2 level, in our Country Office in Bamako, Mali.

Under the general supervision of the WFP Country Director and under the functional supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the Reports Officer will be responsible of the following duties:

• Coordinate reporting activities; • Provide technical support, training and clarification on reporting policies; • Monitor and review regular sources of information and data required for preparation of reports, e.g., information from NGOs, news clippings, surveys, information from field monitors, food statistics reports; • Write a regular situation report for WFP Headquarters summarizing WFP activities in an emergency operation; assist in the preparation, writing and editing of all other reports required by Headquarters; • Gather and analyse information about donor policies, trends and preferences; • Prepare donor appeals and reports including the Standard Project Report for the Annual Reporting Exercise, in conjunction with Programme and Logistics Officers; • Act as public information focal point in the absence of in-country Public Information Officer; • Prepare press releases, media briefs, talking points, donor visibility materials and organise advocacy campaigns in the absence of in-country Public Information Officer; • Compile field level information required for operational reports to donors; • Liaise with Headquarters (Analysis, Assessment and Preparedness Division) and provide local input on the production of maps; • Liaise as needed with Donors, NGOs and other UN agencies; • Contribute to preparedness actions such as early warning, risk analysis and contingency planning and make recommendations. Periodically monitor the management of risks and report on any actions taken; • Perform other related duties as required.
