Established in 2000, The African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP) is a country-led, public-private development partnership between the Government of Botswana, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and MSD/Merck Company Foundation which is committed to enhancing Botswana’s national response to HIV/AIDS. Currently in its second phase the organisation is delivering on four main areas of focus: HIV/AIDS Treatment Optimization; TB-HIV Treatment Integration; Safe Medical Male Circumcision and Knowledge Generation.

Health Economist (ACHAP0313)

The primary purpose of this position is to evaluate and document the economic impact of ACHAP’s interventions, analyse the economic impact of new funding proposals and provide guidance on strategic programmatic investments and identify priority areas in the future. The position requires a Masters or PhD in health economics, public policy or health policy or equivalent (PhD preferred) coupled with significant proven experience providing technical assistance in the development, design, implementation and evaluation of health economics and financing policies and programmes. Experience and skills in financial and economic modelling and analysis of health programmes is also required.
