The American Red Cross (ARC) International Services Department (ISD) seeks to prevent and alleviate human suffering around the world by responding to disasters, building safer, more resilient communities, and educating future humanitarians. The American Red Cross continues to deepen and expand its international programming while also working to strengthen the global Red Cross Red Crescent Network, in order to deliver critical assistance to some of the most vulnerable communities in the world.

SUMMARY:

ISD seeks an Information Analyst to support program information and reporting needs, including tracking program data to support decision-making and generating information products for internal and external audiences. This position reports directly to the Reporting and Analytics Manager and will provide dedicated support to the Haiti Assistance Program. The position requires a high level of coordination with multiple groups of stakeholders across the department, at headquarters and in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Responsible for the development, updating and dissemination of Haiti Assistance Program information products and materials including presentations, fact sheets, brochures and reports. •Support the production of stewardship reports for the Haiti Assistance Program.•Consolidate, synthesize and repackage Haiti-related project-level data for broader audiences, including senior leadership, communications, marketing, donor relations, American Red Cross chapters and external stakeholders. •Lead the maintenance of basic programmatic data in programs database. Help ensure smooth migration of programmatic data into department’s new project management system to be rolled out in Spring 2014. •Facilitate the review, editing and approval of information products and reports, helping to ensure quality, accuracy of information and adherence to style guidelines. •Coordinate with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) staff at headquarters and in the field to prepare programmatic data for mapping, and help inform GIS strategy and data collection methodologies. •Review project reports to increase consistency and accuracy in information gathering, utilize reported information in other products, and better understand programs.•Coordinate and collaborate with staff at headquarters and in the field (including Programs staff, Communications staff, M&E staff and field-based counterpart) to align efforts; ensure availability, consistency and accuracy of reports and communications products; and ensure the needs of internal clients are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor’s degree with at least five years experience in international humanitarian and/or development work or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. •Must have excellent writing, editing and analytical skills. •Must have experience successfully producing information products for various audiences.•Must have operational flexibility and a willingness to take the initiative, as well as the ability to problem-solve, liaise with multiple parties, and receive direction and respond effectively. •Must have strong interpersonal skills and a high level of comfort forging effective working relationships in cross-cultural environments.•Must have the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines when necessary. •Basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation, and project and information management tools is desirable. Experience coordinating roll-up and reporting on accountability/results frameworks is desirable. •Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and InDesign or other desktop publishing software is desirable.•Ability to travel internationally with little notice.
