Bosnia and Herzegovina: Public sector financial audit specialist
Chemonics seeks a public sector financial audit specialist for a short-term assignment on the ongoing, USAID-funded Partnership for Advancing Reforms in the Economy project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The specialist will provide technical support to enhance the capacity of subnational (cantonal and municipal) legislative bodies to implement public sector financial audits. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Review regulations on financial audit reports
- Recommend improvements to system for implementing audit recommendations
- Conduct capacity building events to increase audit recommendation implementation
- Facilitate dissemination of a best practice model to other cantons and municipalities
- Support other technical activities at the direction of the technical director
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in accounting/auditing or a related field required, with a focus on the public sector preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience working with financial auditing
- Expertise in conducting legislative gap analysis
- Experience in conducting capacity building training
- Knowledge and experience working in Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Ability to work with and communicate with a wide variety of people
- Excellent writing and communications skills essential
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- English fluency required
