Project Summary:

The LEGADA project is an online training program and educational initiative working to address the issue of domestic abuse. Serving multiple language communities, LEGADA builds and supports a virtual network of lawyers working on domestic abuse issues, disseminates information to raise public awareness, and educates victims on their rights and available legal and support services.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Program Officer II, the Program Officer I will provide administrative and operational support to the LEGADA program.

Position Responsibilities:

▪ Support implementation of LEGADA program through ongoing administrative and back-stop support for program staff and program related activities;
▪ Process and review invoices, consultant agreements, consultant payments and other contractual and financial documents;
▪ Support communications with (1) LEGADA’s network of lawyers and (2) public inquiries, and manage tracking of correspondence, requests, and activity;
▪ Manage and update program, educational and training materials and information, and support development of new materials;
▪ Manage program’s quarterly E-newsletter publication and distribution;
▪ Support website administration, including independently performing basic maintenance tasks and liaising with web developer to provide scheduled maintenance services and troubleshoot website issues;
▪ Conduct program related research as requested;
▪ Conduct program related translation as requested;
▪ Work independently or on a team on special program projects as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

▪ Bachelors or equivalent work experience required, 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job
▪ Written and oral proficiency in Farsi, Dari, or Tajik language
▪ Experience and/or interest in domestic abuse issues
▪ Experience and/or interest in website administration and maintenance
▪ Excellent verbal communication skills; Professional telephone skills
▪ Proficiency in basic functions of Microsoft Office
▪ Organized; sets priorities; meets deadlines; able to multi-task.
▪ Attention to detail and carefully proofs own work.
▪ Consistently demonstrates ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision
▪ Consistently demonstrates ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary
