United States of America (the): Commodities procurement specialists
Chemonics seeks senior- and mid-level international and developing country procurement specialists for an anticipated Global Risk Assessment and Management Services Mechanism. These specialists will assist with reviewing and improving host-country systems and controls to reduce opportunities for theft or loss in all commodities procured by USAID on behalf of USAID missions and operating units worldwide. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Short-term assignments are expected in the following technical areas:
- Supply chain management
- Warehousing and storage
- Commodity distribution
- Logistics and transport
- Procurement management and reform
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in relevant field preferred
- At least one of the following credentials (U.S. or foreign equivalents): Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Purchasing professional, Project Management Professional, Certified Treasury Professional, or President's Malaria Initiative - Risk Management Professional
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in supply and logistics evaluation, commodities procurement, procurement reform, or contract administration required; additional experience potentially required for certain positions
- Expertise in supply logistics, financial management risk assessment, auditing, contract administration, accounting, IT systems for financial management, treasury and cash management, or any combination of expertise preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Ability to build the capacity of local partners
- Experience working with nongovernmental organizations, national and local governments, and the private commercial sector
- Proficiency in English required; proficiency in other relevant languages desirable
