NGO JOBS

• Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction
• Serve as key liaison with DFID, government counterparts, and local partners
• Manage and supervise the work of project personnel and subcontractors
• Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate
• Create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
• Oversee project work planning, performance management, and strategic communications

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in management, international development, or a related field required
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in development required
• Minimum 5Five years of project management experience, managing complex activities involving coordination with multiple program stakeholders
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Ethiopian economy/ political economy, particularly pertaining to cotton/textiles, horticulture, and leather/livestock
• Experience working with and through developing country governments at different tiers of administration (federal/regional/local), and influencing them
• Experience in the following technical areas preferred:
• Financial sector issues, including microfinance, banking, and equity-type support
• Sector-focused, value-chain interventions, especially in cotton/textiles, horticulture, and leather/livestock
• Africa private sector issues
• Gender and social development
• Green growth
• Project management
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Management of grants, technical assistance, challenge funds, and other common development interventions
• Accounting and financial management
• Procurement
• Strong personnel management, networking, and relationship building skills
• Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in Amharic preferred
