We are recruiting for two Disaster Response Team Leaders, the successful candidates will work as part of a team in providing operational management and coordination of relief assistance to people affected by disasters. The successful candidates will be responsible for the overall management of a Disaster Response Team travelling into an emergency situation (in case of being selected as a team leader). S/He will facilitate, implement and establish disaster response projects during the early stages of an emergency situation as well as recruiting, training and line managing local staff. The successful candidates will write reports and proposals to reflect the problems within the area they work within and propose solutions going forth.
The successful candidates will have the availability and flexibility to be deployed at short notice due to the nature of this post. S/He will have multidisciplinary backgrounds in designing, implementing and conducting humanitarian programmes and rapid need assessments. S/He will also have the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills as well as sensitivity towards different cultures. It is essential that the successful candidates will be fluent in English (written and spoken) and additional languages and be energetic and able to operate in situations which may be arduous.
