Switzerland: Shelter and settlement training internship

Shelter Centre is looking for a motivated individual to join its current Shelter and Settlement Training Project Team (SSTT). The SSTT is designed to adhere to the “one day, one week, one month” system which is being implemented by USAID, with Shelter Centre developing the weekly component of the incremental training process. This project aims to address the absence of commonly-agreed shelter training, to ensure it is thereafter widely available to relevant stakeholders.

Required Experience:
Young professionals with the following skills and competences are encouraged to apply:

-Background in developing/delivering training

-Excellent research skills

-Strong oral and written communication skills

-Demonstrated ability to draft, review and edit texts

-Fluent English (minimum Level C1 proficiency)

-Ability to communicate with variety of stakeholders and conduct document review processes

-Demonstrated computer literacy, including strong command of MS Office programmes

-Proven ability to work flexibly in a small, innovative and dynamic team

-Possession of strong organisational skills

-NGO experience - desirable

-Field experience – desirable

-Computer graphic design skills, with experience with InDesign, Photoshop, etc. – desirable

-Technical expertise in engineering and/or architecture would be an asset

-Available to start as soon as possible

The intern position is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Shelter Centre is not currently in a position to remunerate this internship. Candidates will have to bare their own accommodation and living costs and must also be able to commit themselves for a minimum of two months.
