Distribution Manager - Iraq

We are looking for a highly qualified Distribution Manager to ensure the effective procurement, distribution, monitoring and evaluation of Core Relief Items in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Who are we?

DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC has been present in Iraq since April 2003. DRC is now providing a range of Core Relief Items throughout the Kurdistan Region including winterization items, hygiene kits and kerosene.

Duties

• Ensure implementation of NFI distribution activities in accordance with DRC guidelines, program objectives and accountability principles.

• Represents DRC with relevant donors, partners and local authorities and coordinates with distribution actors and other DRC programmes when necessary.

• Lead needs assessment and supervise data collection.

• Recruit and train distribution and protection staff as needed. Evaluate and mentor the assigned staff and assess staff training needs.

• Finalize and supervise implementation of detailed planning and reporting of distribution activities.

• Supervise the post distribution monitoring activities, find solutions for problems occurring before, during and after the distribution. Produce distribution reports and analysis.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have at least least 3 years of relevant professional humanitarian experience in an international humanitarian aid organisation, with at least 2 years in managerial position and experience of working in emergencies. Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability and protection issues. Exerience in monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and strong exerience in conducting needs assessments and analysis.

Ideally you will also have a degree in international relations or other relevant field. You should also have protection experience, exerience in accountability and verification systems in humanitarian operations, high level of proficency in microsoft office and relevant dababase software.

We offer

An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a two month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1st February, 2014 and be willing and able to work in Erbil.
