JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Thabyay Education Foundation, a non-profit organization, is currently seeking a motivated, dedicated and qualified candidate to develop materials for the IT/Computer Skills course to be taught in higher education programs within the Myanmar Community Academies Program (MCAP) schools.

About MCAP

MCAP was established to support the creation of a network of community academies in provincial urban centers of Myanmar where few educational opportunities are available. The academies offer intensive courses to socially engaged students from diverse backgrounds so they can develop the skills and abilities they need to make a positive change in their local communities.The academies have just completed the pilot year and will be celebrating their first graduating class of students in October 2013. With the first year of the program in its final term, MCAP Central Programming has completed a formal curriculum review and has developed a revision plan for each of the subjects being taught.

Job Overview

Based on the curriculum review completed with both students and teachers in the three academies, the Computing Skills Development Specialist will work to revise the previously used resources under the supervision of the Curriculum Department Senior Program Manager.

These particular positions will comprise of the development of the Computer/IT Training portion of the course for a period of 3 Semesters with the following concentrations: Basic Typing (English and Myanmar), Internet Research and Email, Basic Microsoft Word, Basic to Advanced Excel, Basic Photoshop, Basic PowerPoint, Basic PageMaker, and Basic Video Editing.

Key Areas of Responsibility: Review curriculum feedback reports Develop a Computing Skills course framework Develop appropriate teaching resources for each component of the course Develop a lesson guide book to assist with materials delivery

Requirements

Three to five years of computer-based teaching Strong familiarity with Computer/IT resources and materials Ability to work on site in Yangon
