SUMMARY:This position provides support to the International Services group (ISD) of the American Red Cross. This position reports to the Director, Talent & Organization Development. This individual will be responsible for researching, designing, developing and implementing learning and development solutions to enhance ISD employee capabilities. They will also provide support with assessment and design of organizational development solutions to help enhance ISD organizational performance. This opportunity is based in the Washington, D.C.
RESPONSIBILITIES:This individual will be a member of the Talent & Organization Development group in supporting a variety of ISD learning and organizational development efforts that would include, but are not limited to:
• Design, develop and implement solutions in the areas of leadership/management effectiveness, employee development, organizational design and structure, performance management, succession planning and employee engagement within ISD• Design and develop all materials associated with any development and training solutions (e.g. workbooks, templates, PowerPoints, webinars and other communication tools) within ISD • Design and develop participant and facilitator materials for modular based webinars, eLearning and in-person classes for front line and emerging supervisors within ISD • Design and develop participant and facilitator materials for classroom based management and employee development program within ISD• Design, develop and implement a top talent/high potential targeted development program across ISD• Collaborate, design and develop a strategic plan for learning and development programs, processes, and systems to enhance the capabilities and performance of all ISD employees • Help the delivery and continuous improvement of multiple leadership development programs already in existence within ISD• Sets and aligns project management goals with established team and business objectives within ISD
QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Human Resources or Business• 5+ years related work experience and knowledge in Instructional Design, Organization Development and Leadership Development • Platform facilitation skills including the ability to deliver interactive presentations and lead meetings with all levels of leaders• Demonstrated excellent customer service mentality; must display tact and diplomacy in difficult or sensitive situations; Ability to work effectively with a range of staff, including senior executives, and various internal/external stakeholders• Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design practices; needs analysis, blended learning design, curricula development and management, and learning evaluation methodologies.• Expertise in organization development, change management, and leadership development.• Intermediate to Expert proficiency in using current eLearning development and Rapid eLearning development tools such as Articulate, Captivate, or other similar e-learning tools.• Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)• Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours and an average amount (10-25%) of business travel are required
