The role
To coordinate and manage the transition of Merlin’s international programming activity across 18 country operations into Save the Children International, building senior level visibility engagement and support for the transition process whilst maintaining a broad view across coun tries and cross-functional work streams.
The Transition PMO Lead will;
* Ensure successful administration of project management framework, processes, and tools to maintain and track 18 country programme transitions as well as 14 cross-functional work streams
* Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritised view of all project work streams
* Support effective stakeholder management and coordination across a complex organisation
* Encourage and share lessons learned and best practices across programs and work streams , building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels
* Support the creation and improvement of processes, procedures, and tools
* Lead and contribute to individual projects to facilitate the overall transition
* Facilitate the embedding of the Merlin culture and values at all levels of the organisation
* Ensure and facilitate effective ways of working between the SCI and SC UK transition team.
Qualifications and experience
Background and Experience
* Extensive post-merger integration or new organisation start-up change management planning and implementation experience
* Project management experience in a fast-changing environment
* Experience in working in large or complex organisations
* A skilled coach, with the ability to modulate style to motivate others without direct line management
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
* Results oriented with a demonstrated ability to think strategically, to analyse complex information and offer creative, practical solutions.
* Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, whilst working to tight deadlines.
* Excellent influencing and negot iation skills. The role will involve liaison with a wide range of people, both internally and externally, and will require a proven track record in dealing with people at all levels with credibility, tact and diplomacy.
* High attention to detail
* A creative problem solver with highly developed analytical skills
* A self-motivator who sets high personal goals and actively takes responsibility for their actions
* Collaborative in approach, with the ability to remain neutral/independent
* Applies personal organisation strategies and processes to prioritise and effectively manage a large and diverse workload in a pressured environment
* Highly credible, with a good track record in tact and diplomacy
* Maintain a calm disposition and positive outlook when working under pressure
* Commitment to the aims, objectives and values of Save the Children
* Verbal and written fluency in English, with strong presentational skills
* Fluency in French would be preferable but is not essential
This role will be offered as a fixed term contract of 12 months
