MAG works to tackle the destructive legacy of violence and conflict; to release land for food production; to increase safe access to vital resources like water, education and health services; and to build a better future for women, men and children alike.This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a strategic and senior management role in a Nobel Peace-Prize winning international NGO. As one of three Regional Programmes Managers, reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will lead and manage the Country Directors of your overseas programmes and be expected to manage them to ensure the quality delivery of MAG’s operations and the compliance of grants and contracts. You will also manage a small team at MAG HQ in the UK.
The post holder will also contribute to regional strategic approaches, supporting Country Directors in the development and implementation of business plans, including coordinating expansion into new countries and the development and strengthening of donor relationships. This is a challenging and varied role, offering the opportunity to use your wide-ranging management experience to influence the organisation and the wider sector.
The successful candidate will have excellent project management, business planning and budget management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Previous experience of working in a senior management position within a development or humanitarian organisation is essential. A thorough knowledge and understanding of conflict recovery and development is also required, as well as previous experience of working with significant institutional donors. Regular travel will be essential in this role, to MAG programmes, donors and other stakeholders – you could be in Manchester one week, visiting Washington, Geneva or Brussels the next, then a MAG programme in Asia, Africa or the Middle East.
