Decades of conflict has left Sudan highly unstable with a continuing humanitarian crisis in Darfur in the west and fighting in bordering South Sudan. Darfur continues to be one of the largest humanitarian responses in the world. The two main church-based networks, ACT International (represented by Norwegian Church Aid) and Caritas Internationalis (represented by CAFOD) have come together in a demonstration of unity of purpose through common action to:

The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Coordinator will manage all aspects of the delivery of a comprehensive ECHO funded WASH programme with the best possible efficiency and effectiveness targeting internally displaced persons (IDPs), host communities and rural villages.
Candidates should have a relevant qualification and proven experience in in vector control, hand dug wells, bore holes, and water storage, water treatment, tankering and harvesting; solar water abstraction systems in complex emergency situations and insecure environments. Good capacity building and training skills and past success in designing and implementing programmes with a high level of community participation is essential. Strong report writing skills are also a requirement.
