Job Description:
As the Associate Director of Program Development and Support, you will have full responsibility of leading our entire Asia/Pacific (APs) regions’ team of technical specialist who provide management, coordination and guidance in the development, implementation and evaluation of Program activities in AP National Organizations (NOs). You report directly to the Senior Director of Asia/Pacific Operations and will serve as a valuable resource to the AP Operations team and the NOs throughout the region. You are a consummate leader and able to provide full service support and coaching of your team. You utilize your solid experience managing diverse teams to grow and develop a team of technical specialist that helps to drive the largest area office in Habitat, reaching over 35,000 families through our construction efforts this past year.
You are an excellent communicator, able to effectively interact with key government officials, NGO partners, senior leaders, and program experts throughout the organization. You are a strategic thinker, willing and able to promote thoughtful discussion and make decisions based on sound principles. You probably consider yourself a ‘Microsoft Suite guru’ – able to navigate easily between MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
Individuals successful in this role will...
Lead the design and/or further development of new program areas such as urban shelter/housing responses and water/sanitation activities.
Contribute to the Area Office strategic and business plans and supports NOs in strategic and business planning related to relevant technical areas.
Contribute to the development of global level strategies, policies, processes and initiatives related to relevant technical areas.
Coordinate HFHI support of National Organizations by HQ and AO program specialists. Coordination includes developing and directing specific program interventions and activities by HFHI program support staff and following-up to see that the best use of expertise and time has been made.
Encourage National Offices and staff to implement Habitat program initiatives and innovations and to take advantage of HFHI support for: Appropriate Construction Technology, Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation, Advocacy and other technical and systems areas.
Monitor capacity of NOs in the relevant technical areas and recommends initiatives and programs for building staff capacity as required.

Required Skills:
Key Requirements
At least seven years relevant international development experience
At least five years of management experience in the INGO sector - with HFHI preferred
Demonstrated experience in at least two key areas of oversight such as PDME, Advocacy, Construction technology (including Water & Sanitation), Urban Development
Bachelor's Degree in related field such as International Development or International Relations or Social Work required; Master’s Degree preferred
Fluency in written and spoken English required; knowledge of Asia/Pacific area language highly preferred
Understanding of and experience in the affordable shelter/housing sector highly preferred
Strong training and facilitation skills
