Libya: Project Manager - Advocacy and Organisational Development, Libya
Country: Libya
Closing date: 18 Sep 2013
Women participation project in Libya
DanChurchAid (DCA) in Libya is engaged in humanitarian mine action (clearance, arms violence reduction), in psychosocial support and has been working on women empowerment and participation since October 2011. For the latter, DCA has adopted an approach where capacity building of civil society organisations (CSOs) to plan and manage projects properly, strategize for and execute awareness raising and advocacy campaigns go hand in hand with financial support (sub-granting scheme). In order to ensure the inclusion of women and women’s rights in the current Libyan political process and drafting of the new Libyan constitution, DCA will continue to sub-grant projects as well as build the capacity of eight (8) promising, yet nascent, Libyan CSOs through training, on-the-job support and mentoring in topics that will be selected based on the findings of a nation-wide survey to be released in September.
DCA is therefore looking for a Project Manager with strong experience in Advocacy / Organisational Development. The position is based in Tripoli, Libya with frequent travel to Benghazi and the field.
