Deputy Director - EXTERNAL RELATIONS & ENGAGEMENT: (BASE: NATIONAL OFFICE, DHAKA)This is a senior management level position within World Vision Bangladesh. One of the key roles is to ensure appropriate engagement with a wide range of external bodies starting from Donor Agencies, UN bodies, Government Ministries/Agencies, Civil Society Organizations, INGOs to Private corporations, multinational companies etc. for contribution to program growth, impact and quality within the parameters of WV’s Vision, Mission and Values.
The position will actively support the Group Director- Public Relation & External Engagement in promoting and maintaining the identify and high level of brand image/reputation of the organization for appropriate positioning and influence. The position will also provide leadership in the area of strategic engagement with institutions/ bodies ranging from government/ regulatory bodies, FBOs/ NGOs/ INGOs/ multinational/trans-national Companies and civil society organizations.
The Deputy Director - External Relations & Engagement will develop and manage appropriate strategies for several key support functions including FBO Relations, Corporate Engagement and Guest & Event Management keeping consistent with the Partnership and Regional Policies, Guidelines and Objectives.
Other duties will include:-• To maintain high level contact and influence high level actors/decision makers in different bodies potential for partnership, collaborations, alliances and resource tapping. • To establish, maintain and strengthen relationships and influence decisions of key policy makers, external & Strategic partners and Corporates in Bangladesh;• To strengthen our stand and voice in the NGO industry, Donor’s community, Civil Society and major players in the private sector• To provide necessary support to the External Relations & Engagement Team members in unleashing their potential and ensure proper integration for effective ministry delivery.• To ensure internal coordination & collaboration for the success and growth the group and the organization.
Qualification:? Minimum Graduation degree from a recognized university, preferably in Public Relation/ Communication/ Business Administration/ Economics/Marketing/ International Relations or in similar field. ? Professional background in external Relations & Engagement and/or other relevant development fields.? Strong understanding of NGO industry, Donor’s community, Civil Society and private sector. ? Effective relationship with government/regulatory bodies, FBOs/NGOs/INGOs/multinational/Trans-national Companies, Print/electronic media, civil society organizations etc.? Excellent interpersonal & networking skills, strong written & oral communication skill in Bangla & English.? Standard proficiency in computer literacy (MS programming’s, emailing, internet operation etc.)
Experience: ? At least 10 years relevant experience in similar field in management level in an international organization preferably in NGO context. ? Experience in developing people in a cross-cultural setting and initiate & implement organizational change at leadership level.? Demonstrated facilitation & collaboration skills.
