Global Communities is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join its Human Resources team at the headquarters in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland (near the Red Line Metro).
The Director will be responsible for the management and oversight of all Human Resources functions, including: performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, HRIS, compliance, and recruitment.
The Director will be responsible for implementing policies, systems, and programs that support a positive employee-oriented workplace.
The Director will serve as an advisor to the Executive Team to ensure alignment with attracting and retaining outstanding talent and maximizing organizational performance; promote an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance; and promote employee morale through a variety of initiatives.
Experience Required
- Master's degree and 10+ years of progressive HR generalist experience
- 6+ years of HR management experience in an international development environment
- Experience with USAID (contracts and cooperative agreements), other international donors, and foundations
- Proven experience managing domestic and international development benefits programs
- Experience with federal/state and USAID regulations, including Affirmative Action and Compliance
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, diverse consultants, and the public
- SPHR preferred
- Fluency in English; fluency in a second language preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- US Work Authorization
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
