Progressio is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support with the recruitment and marketing of the International Citizen Service (ICS) programme, an overseas volunteering programme for young adults.
You will be assisting us in generating more traffic to the ICS section of our website, engaging more networks across the UK and ensuring Return Volunteers are involved and well supported in marketing the programme, generating more applications to Progressio ICS. Your tasks will be varied, allowing you to develop a number of useful work-based skills.
What sort of tasks will this include?
Tasks will vary, and may include: establishing relationships with organisations across the UK via email and telephone; supporting Return Volunteers to promote Progressio ICS; updating adverts on various online portals and researching new online portals for marketing; helping to promote Progressio ICS through social media; assisting in producing press releases; collating and analysing Progressio ICS marketing statistics; occasionally attending marketing events, and researching and assisting in taking forward our recruitment plan and activities.
Is this volunteer role right for you?
You will receive an induction and support to carry out this role. Ideally we are looking for: enthusiasm and a proactive approach, including a willingness to speak to people over the telephone; good organisational and administrative skills; experience of using social media, particularly Facebook; experience of engaging with young people and/or youth networks and groups; an ability to work both in a team and individually; excellent English skills (spoken and written); a respectful and polite approach; good IT skills; good attention to detail, and responsibility and reliability. Some experience of administration, communications or marketing, knowledge of faith and diaspora communities and/or knowledge of volunteering in the UK or overseas would be desirable, but is not essential.
