The Assistance Coordination Unit, the humanitarian coordination arm of the Syrian National Coalition for Revolution and Opposition Forces, is seeking a qualified translator to provide professional-grade translations of written material from Arabic to English and visa-versa. S/he will be responsible for translating and editing documents, proposals, press releases, and reports, and ensuring that the translated text matches with the original text in meaning and context, and confirming that all translated documentation is error-free in terms of spelling, accuracy, grammar, completeness. The translator may also be required to provide real-time simultaneous translation in meetings and events.
Qualified applicants must have 3-5 years of work experience in professional translation, with a preference for professional experience in the humanitarian/media field. Excellent writing, communication, and social skills in both languages is a must. Strong candidates should be able to demonstrate an ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines.
