Objectives of the role:
The Legal and Judicial Affairs Communication Expert shall provide strategic advice on public awareness activities and improving reporting on justice sector issues in print, audio and visual media.
Length of the project: 36 months
Start Date: January 2014
Qualifications and Skills:
• Postgraduate degree in media and communication, law, in social and/or political sciences, pubic administration or related discipline or equivalent experience of at least 15 years
• Excellent management, communication (written and oral) and coordination skills
• Ability to work at senior as well as community level
• Proficiency in written and oral English. Knowledge of Urdu is an advantage
General Professional Experience:
• At least 10 years professional experience working in media and/or communication
• Experience with an international donor-funded programme and management experience preferred
• International experience and/or experience in South Asia
Specific Professional Experience:
• Proven in-depth understanding of and experience in media and justice issues, knowledge of correlation between media, access to justice and rule of law
• Communication experience for the legal and/or judicial sector
• Experience in developing communication and media strategies and mounting media campaigns
• Monitoring and evaluation experience is an advantage
