Project Summary:The Egypt Civil Society Support program is designed to build the organizational and management capacity of Egyptian civil society organizations. Funded by USAID/Egypt’s Democracy and Governance Program and implemented by MSI in partnership with FHI36O and IREX, the project provides technical assistance and support to individual Egyptian CSOs and the broader civil society to advocate for citizen interests and engage in a wide variety of civic action.
Position Summary:ECSS seeks to increase civil society access to information and resources through its ECSS Maktabat resource library, social media websites and e-learning portal. The Outreach Specialist will market these online tools, analyze feedback from users to determine improvements that would make the resources more vital for Egyptian CSOs, and implement and maintain proposed strategies and approaches in collaboration with the ECSS team. The Outreach Specialist will also take the lead in preparing and distributing outreach material for the ECSS program.
This position is from September 1, 2013 – January 31, 2014, for a total level of effort of 108 days.
Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Egyptian citizenship will be considered.
Responsibilities:•Prepare and deliver detailed presentations to market the new Maktabat resource library and social media websites and distribute materials during field visits to CSOs and other events.•Provide support in the preparation and delivery of all necessary outreach materials, on- and offline, according to the proposed marketing strategy, including administrative tasks and follow-up with vendors.•Implement feedback and recommendations from CSOs through ongoing communication strategy on the Maktabat website, social media tools, and e-learning portal to assure sites are user friendly.•Prepare and submit follow-up reports on outreach visits to CSOs and workshops illustrating participant feedback, recommendations and outcomes.•Support the ECSS team to implement the final marketing strategy for the Maktabat resource library and social media websites.•Conduct other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:•Advanced degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited university.•At least two years’ experience in public outreach to civil society.•Demonstrated record of work in the field of marketing and reporting.•Demonstrated record of work in the field of CSO capacity building.•Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations, particularly multi-cultural teams.•Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.
