Project Summary:
The Egypt Civil Society Support program is designed to build the organizational and management capacity of Egyptian civil society organizations. Funded by USAID/Egypt’s Democracy and Governance Program and implemented by MSI in partnership with FHI36O and IREX, the project provides technical assistance and support to individual Egyptian CSOs and the broader civil society to advocate for citizen interests and engage in a wide variety of civic action.
Position Summary:
The Capacity Building Specialist will contribute within the project framework to providing management support to USAID for its civil society portfolio, developing the organizational and management capacity of existing USAID civil society grantees, and providing targeted support to build the capacity of Egyptian civil society organizations.
This position is from October 1, 2013 – November 30, 2013, for a total level of effort of 43 days.
Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Egyptian citizenship will be considered.
Responsibilities:
•Analyze civil society grantee reports and materials.
•Monitor grantee compliance with USAID rules and regulations.
•Develop and implement tailored capacity development plans.
•Develop grantee M&E systems and capacities.
•Provide financial management support to grantees.
•Conduct monthly site visits.
•Provide targeted capacity-building support to grantees.
•Conduct other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Advanced degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited university.
•At least ten years’ experience in media sector support and development.
•Demonstrated record of work in the field of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
•Demonstrated record of work in the field of CSO capacity building.
•Demonstrated skills in program planning, needs assessment, training and evaluation.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations, particularly multi-cultural teams.
•Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.
