Tearfund is looking for an experienced programme manager to lead our humanitarian and rehabilitation projects in South Kivu, DR Congo, initially based in Baraka. Tearfund is implementing a number of donor funded projects in Food Security and WASH sectors, and the Area Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of projects valued up to $4m per year.
The successful candidate must have relevant humanitarian experience, plus proven management and leadership skills, coupled with experience in project and financial management. Strong PCM skills are required as the role is responsible for overseeing the needs assessment of new projects, writing donor proposals and reports, and monitoring and evaluation. Responsibilities also include monitoring the humanitarian environment and reviewing strategic direction, security management, as well as coordination within the UN Cluster and with other NGOs and Govt departments. Excellent written and spoken English and basic French language skills are essential.
The candidate must also be able to work in potentially insecure environments, with remote supervision, to tight timeframes. Applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s Christian beliefs. Salary: £29,406 plus competitive benefits package
