United States of America (the): Architect I - Business Solutions Analyst
Primary Function: This position maintains and improves the agency's business processes and use of financial systems and data. Improvements generally occur through a combination of staff training and the implementation of new or enhanced technology. Job Responsibilities: • Perform interface operations and reconciliations• Maintain data for business operations such as accounting structures, codes, and user access.• Identify, investigate, and resolve technical application problems• Train and support users• Develop reports• Identify and implement improvements in business processes, systems, and data usage.• Perform key tasks in project work. This may include, but is not limited to identifying tasks and estimating related time and cost; assessing implications of alternative approaches on systems, data, and business processes; writing change control documentation, procedures, and training materials; identifying and assessing risks; analyzing, cleansing, extracting and transferring data; installing and testing software and software updates; tracking and reporting time, cost, and status; working with team members and stakeholdersKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.• Superior analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. • Proven ability to use office productivity software currently in use at CRS• Ability to learn technical concepts from manuals and documentation• Ability to identify and implement procedural and technical improvements• Typing/Keyboard skills (>35 wpm)Agency-wide Competencies (for all CRS Staff): These are rooted in the mission, values, and principles of CRS and used by each staff member to fulfill his or her responsibilities and to achieve the desired results.• Serves with Integrity• Models Stewardship• Cultivates Constructive Relationships• Promotes Learning Key Working Relationships: Internal: Financial Systems team, Headquarters and Overseas Finance staff,Global Knowledge and Information Management (GKIM) staffExternal: Software support personnelQualifications:1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.2. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a business systems analyst, designer or developer using relevant software products.3. Knowledge of business and accounting processes.4. Excel expertise (Excel-based data entry forms; complicated formulas & functions; filters; pivot tables, etc.) required.5. Experience in designing reports with reporting software.6. Good understanding of software life cycles and general relational database management technologies. 7. Understanding of IT enabled business change solutions. 8. Preferred:a. Infor SunSystems database experienceb. Q&A or Crystal Reports experiencec. SQL experienced.
