Jordan: Education Monitors for Zaatari Refugee Camp
Background:NRC is supporting the Ministry of Education as well as UNICEF in Jordan to ensure that Syrian school-age refugee children receive quality education services within temporary learning spaces in in Al Zaatari Camp. There is a need to further motivate and engage the parents of the students in promotion of school enrolment, regular attendance and completion of quality education for all the children, boys and girls. NRC is seeking to immediately hire highly motivated staff for a one-month duration with continuation based upon performance.
Responsibilities: - Daily observation and recording of attendance rates- Daily observation and recording of the availability, condition and usage of water and sanitation facilities at the school sites - Daily inspection and recording of the overall conditions of the learning spaces including furniture and basic teaching-learning materials - Daily observation and recording of school safety including secure learning spaces, play areas and fencing of the school compound - Recommend improvements that needs to be made in order to ensure a healthy, safe and child friendly environment for students and teachers- Responsible for daily reporting to the Education Project Officer
Skills and Qualifications Required: - Interest in teaching and /or the administration and education management- Excellent organizational and planning skills- Experience and skills with data and information recording and reporting of students participation and attendance rates
- Familiarity with school environment - Native Arabic skills and proficiency in English language skills - Prior experience working with local or international NGOs in support of refugee or IDP populations is an asset
