Following the company’s global expansion, GRM International seeks to appoint a London based Governance Reform Practice Area Senior Specialist (Political Economist)
This pivotal role will be responsible for developing opportunities for GRM to provide technical services to key clients, whilst overseeing and directly delivering GRM services in:
- Political economy
- Institutional strengthening
- Civil society empowerment through grant making and capacity development
- Government accountability mechanisms
This is the ideal opportunity to apply your experience in one or more of the following sectors: Rule of law, public financial management, social development, gender, social inclusion, fragile and transitional states, institutional reform, decentralisation, human rights and/or policing.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
- Graduate or post-graduate degree in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy or International Development or related discipline
- Extensive International development experience within a reputable consultancy in a project position or donor agency.
- Experience in political economy analysis and drivers of change approach
- An understanding of demand side governance approaches, especially in empowerment and accountability
- Strong business acumen
- A “Can Do” Team bias
- Sound business development and Client Relationship Management skills
- Willingness to travel and work abroad (approximately 30% of the time) within developing countries.
