Canada: Bilingual Resource Development Assistant
Crossroads International has an exciting opportunity for a bilingual (E/F) Resource Development Assistant to join its resource development team in the dynamic field of international development.
Crossroads International is an international development organization that is reducing poverty and increasing women’s rights around the world. Working with local partners in 28 projects, in eight countries and supported by hundreds of volunteers each year, Crossroads leverages expertise and resources, North and South, required to help people overcome poverty and assert their human rights.
We are seeking a dynamic and committed individual in the role of Resource Development Assistant. Reporting to the Director of External Relations, the Resource Development Assistant plays a vital role supporting Crossroads’ donor and alumni engagement program. A tech savvy, highly organized self-started, the assistant is an effective communicator focused on building supportive relationships with volunteers and donors. The assistant is responsible for timely processing and acknowledgement of all gifts and provides administrative support to the external relations department including: coordinating production of mailings and online campaigns; prospect research; and alumni and donor recognition and engagement strategies including events. Superior organizational and data management skills are required.
Responsibilities
Perform data entry, reporting and receipting using Raiser’s Edge ensuring accurate recording of all donor solicitations and contacts and prompt acknowledgement of all giftsPerform monthly and annual reconciliation of all gifts and in kind volunteer hoursPerform queries and reports to support annual and major gift programLiaise with donors and volunteers as requiredSupport the production and implementation of all elements of the fundraising program including newsletters, direct mail, tele-fundraising, peer to peer campaigns and special eventsResearch and write corporate, individual and foundation prospect profilesDraft meeting briefings and prepare written notes subsequent to meetingsDraft correspondenceCoordinate translation as requiredProvide administrative support as required
Job Requirements
Fundraising or relevant work experience combined with a university degree or college diploma
Bilingual English/French with strong writing skillsRaiser’s Edge experienceStrong research skills and experience in donor prospect researchStrong computer skills (Sharepoint, Raiser’s Edge, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)Experience with design software, HTML and social media is an assetStrong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent proofreading skillsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, project and time management skillsGiven the nature of this position, some weekend and evening work may be required
