ActionAid Bangladesh is looking for suitable candidate for the following position:

Director – Programme, Policy and Campaigns (Re-announcement)

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)
? Provide strategic direction in respect to relevant programme, policy and campaign.
? As a member of the Senior Leadership Team contributing to critical management and organizational level decisions
? Managing high level stakeholder relationships which have significant and potential impact for all of AAB including expansion Local Rights Programme ( LRP) into new areas;
? Promoting the organisational vision and values to all team members, providing inspiring leadership and role modelling best practice and culture of performance, accountability, collaboration and innovation;
? Working closely with other Directors, lead on programmatic support for members and country programmes with appropriate tools, policy research and content analysis promoting AA’s enhanced Human Rights Based Approach;
? Ensures that specialist and technical support is provided to the rest of the organisation in relation to the change promises in the CSP IV;
? Financial management and control inline with authority matrix
? Ensuring that planning, monitoring, risk management

In addition to the individual roles, as a small cohesive team, the AAB Senior Leadership Team with the Country Director, are collectively responsible for:

a) Direction and coordination of policy analysis and research that provide the evidence base for AAB Country Strategy issues and priorities;
b) Ensures the promotion of innovation and development and implementation of programmatic alternatives that provide sustainable solutions in AAB’s efforts to eradicate poverty and injustice with partners;
c) Leads the coordination of strategic priorities’, country campaign(s), and media advocacy to achieve the objectives; and

Relationships
S/he will report to Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/he has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers in team, priority and project management team. S/he must be able to communicate with impact with other Strategic Priority Units, Reinforcing Priority Units and Organizational Priority units of ActionAid Bangladesh. The incumbent will also maintain the liaison and networking with ActionAid International / Federation and other ActionAid Country Programmes, at national level and also maintain the relationship with Government and Non Government Agencies, LRP Partners and other stakeholders. S/he has to maintain relationship with donors.

Required qualification and competencies
? Post Graduation
? At least 10-12 years of working experience (5 years in Senior Management Position)
? Will have the ability to lead the team to achieve organisation’s objective
? Strategic decision making ability
? Knowledge and experience of management and policy advocacy
? Financial management and budgetary experience is essential
? Knowledge on Networking and Collaboration nationally and internationally
? Should have the ability to support learning / facilitating change
? Negotiation skill, motivational skill, team building skill are required.
? Should be gender sensitive and familiar with Human Rights Based Approach
? Ability to work under extreme pressure.
? Good interpersonal skills
? Good communication and report writing skills both in English and Bangla
