The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is used as a guide for all programming on women’s rights and the Country Office focuses in areas of protection of women migrant workers, increasing the role of men in preventing violence against women; linking the twin pandemics of violence against women and HIV. Some of the key focus of UN Women’s work in the area of Governance includes:

? Building knowledge and skills within the government and civil society to put into place gender responsive laws, policies, plans in line with international human rights standards, and the institutional structures and processes that ensure implementation of these;
? Promoting women's effective leadership, including among excluded groups of women, and their meaningful participation in democratic governance;
? Ensuring that decision-making processes are participatory, responsive, equitable and inclusive for all women.
? Engendering formal and informal justice systems to promote women’s human rights at national and local levels

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Programme Manager, the Administrative Assistant provides support to the CEADW team operations performing a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Administrative Assistant promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach.

The Administrative Assistant works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and projects’ staff in the regional and country offices os SEA which have CEDAW programme to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery

Key functions of the Administrative Assistant include:

  1. Ensure effective administrative and logistical support, focusing on achievement of the following results:

? Provide logistical support on office procurements
? Coordinate for local AMRC meetings and prepare meeting minutes
? Coordinate on signing and filing of donor agreements
? Perform a buyer role in Atlas as needed
? Upload of signed project document and donor agreement on UN Women Intranet
? Maintain central office e-filing, hard copy filing, and archive system, ensure consistency and environmental friendly.
? Maintain and review for Consultant and NGO database, NGO profile and files.
? Maintain office contact database, central contract and agreement files for the office.
? Provide support on travel arrangements as required.

  1. Provide support to office maintenance, focusing on achievement of the following results:

? Assist in office administrative tasks for example, procurement of office supplies, maintenance of office equipments, liaise on office maintenance as required.
? Ensure that for every contract prior to closing, has proper liquidating of fixed assets, proper archiving of files.

  1. Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the UN Women ROAP, focusing on achievement of the following results, and support office on security related issues

? Assist in organize workshop, trainings and capacity building
? Ensure all security policies/measures are implemented and documents prepared and clearances are taken in advance for UN Women staff of CEDAW team for their travel.
? Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

? Secondary Education in Social Science, Business Administration or any related field.
? Minimum three years experience in handling administrative and/or financial matters.
? Knowledge of UN Women programs is a plus.
? Familiarity with the use of ATLAS is an advantage.
? Prior experience with international organizations will be beneficial.
? Excellent computer skills.
? Fluency in written and spoken English and Thai is required.
