The World Health Organization estimates that nearly 3 million people still rely on solid biomass for cooking and heating and generally use inefficient and polluting stoves. In addition, the reliance on firewood and charcoal puts significant pressure on women, local livelihoods and forest resources.
StovePlus is an initiative of GERES that was launched in 2011 to help facilitate access to clean cooking energy solutions for populations relying on biomass. We provide technical support to improved cookstove project holders and other sector stakeholders in Southeast Asia and West Africa to help them initiate and scale up activities. Our experts advise stakeholders, train teams and design tools in order to enhance local capacities, engage stakeholders and enable access to clean cooking solutions. For more information please visit: www.stoveplus.org CALL FOR EXPERTSAre you interested in working on clean cooking energy solutions and making a positive impact on health, the environment and local livelihoods in developing countries?
