SummaryThe Senior Specialist, Food Assistance will report to the Associate Director, Food Assistance and will focus on World Food Program (WFP) account management activities for Save the Children US (SCUS). This role will provide oversight to proposal development, Field Level Agreements (FLAs), amendments, fund summaries and reporting. This position will work with other SCUS departments including the Commodity Management Unit (CMU) and may require travel to assist Country Offices with WFP program development and agreement issues and will also assist in regional and country WFP account management orientations.Responsibilities• Manage WFP proposal development and review and FLA approval processes for food voucher program: Conduct proposal development and review. Coordinate and consolidate Technical Assistance, Finance and Contracts and Grants inputs and approvals for proposals. Ensure that commodity calculations for WFP programs are correct. Review and provide input into FLAs and amendments. Track and facilitate approvals for FLAs and amendments.• Oversee the submission, tracking and approval of proposals, agreement and fund summaries in SCUS and Save the Children International (SCI) online award management systems: Ensure the posting of relevant WFP documentation on the SCUS contracts, grants and review system and SCI award management system. Prepare, review and finalize fund summaries for Country Offices (cash and commodity components) and amendments or changes.• Lead regular WFP reporting and maintain account tracking and management tools. Track WFP reporting requirements and assist Country Offices in reporting reviews prior to submission to donor. Develop, update and maintain WFP account tracking and management tools. Develop various WFP account presentations and reporting formats. Develop and deliver WFP account management orientations and trainings for regional and Country Office Staff.• Respond to critical WFP account management needs and emergencies. Deploy to existing WFP programs to provide technical support and account management guidance. Deploy in emergencies to assist Country Offices in rapid assessments and WFP program development.Requirements• BA or BS or advanced degree preferred in a related field.• 5-7 years' international humanitarian operations experience.• Experience with proposal development, project management, presentations using PowerPoint, and budgeting.• Experience with WFP or similar food programming, including cash and voucher programming.• Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, databases and word processing packages.• Fluent in written and spoken English and Fluency in French a plus.• Team player. Adaptable and flexible.• Willing and able to travel as required.• Good facilitation skills, able to deliver briefings and trainings.• Experience with a range of assessment techniques.
