The role is a unique opportunity for a young professional to assist an international humanitarian organisation that highly values information technology. IT and information management are central to the approach of Shelter Centre. Many former staff and volunteers of Shelter Centre have gone on to work for humanitarian agencies, including CARE International, Cordaid, DFID, IFRC, IOM, Oxfam and UNHCR.
Responsibilities:
Drupal website maintenance:
routine content moderationapplying necessary updatesemergency troubleshooting and liaising with service providersDrupal website development support
defining requirementsliaising with external website developersimplementing website changes as neededDiligent and meticulous documentation of all of the above
Your profile:
fluent in Englishexcellent general IT literacy, with a qualification in IT or in the process of obtaining oneproactive in identifying problems and carrying solutions throughable to coordinate tasks between larger team and complete assignments with minimal supervisiongood communication and interpersonal skills and sense of humourRequired skills:
experience with major CMS, preferably Drupal
Conditions
The intern position is located in Geneva, Switzerland. Shelter Centre will only consider applications from individuals from the EU, Switzerland or who possesses a valid permit which allows them to reside and undertake internships in Switzerland.
This position will be on a full time basis. Shelter Centre is not currently in a position to remunerate this internship. Candidates will have to bear their own accommodation and living costs and must also be able to commit themselves for a minimum of three months.
