We are currently looking for an outstanding candidate to be humanitarian advocacy advisor, to lead our work influencing humanitarian policy at the UN and other international institutions in Geneva, Switzerland. Your role will be to represent Save the Children in external engagement with the UN, donors, INGOs and other stakeholders. We are looking for a candidate able to build and maintain relationships with Geneva based institutions and UN Missions, including the UN High Commission for Refugees, OCHA andUNICEF. Save the Children’s ability to engage and influence the UN and other international organisations in Geneva is central to our aim of creating lasting positive change for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children.
T o be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the UN; of international development and humanitarian policy debates; and of the global children’s rights agenda. You will have a strong track record of success in advocating for change and substantial experience of public representation, on humanitarian issues, including at a senior political level and on high profile issues and sensitive contexts. You will have strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate effectively; be a convincing and authoritative spokesperson; and someone comfortable delivering under pressure in a networked organisation. An ability to work in English and French is essential.
