Libya: Tripoli-based short-term researcher

Reboot is under consideration for a project to support the Libyan electoral commission in designing and implementing a mobile voter registration system in advance of the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections.
We are seeking Tripoli-based Researchers and Facilitators to conduct community research over the course of the project. This contract will require a full-time commitment from early September through the end of October 2013, with the potential to extend on a part-time basis through mid-January 2014.
Responsibilities
*Help identify and recruit respondents that fit desired voter profiles.
*Support the research team in conducting interviews and activities with local respondents.
*Provide linguistic and cultural translation in interactions with local communities.
*Help arrange and conduct user-testing on system components and iterations throughout the contract period.
*Support the research team in analyzing data collected daily to translate research findings into system design improvements.
*Facilitate/participate in training activities supporting elections staff in using the system.
Qualifications
*Must be a native speaker of Arabic (Libyan dialect) and proficient in English
*Must be available for full-time work from early September through the end of October 2013, with availability through mid-January 2014 preferred.
*Must be a Libyan national and currently based in Tripoli.
*Must be curious, street-smart, and quick on their feet.
*Empathy and emotional intelligence are core requirements. Must be sensitive and able to interact well with communities across socioeconomic backgrounds.
*No prior background in elections, mobile, or design research necessary, though any/all would be a plus.
*Experience in social science (and especially ethnographic) research preferred, but not critical. We are also open to working with capable, talented university students, young journalists, social workers, community mobilizers, and other similar profiles –– essentially, candidates that have experience working with communities at a grassroots level.
*Willingness to travel to research locations throughout the country.
