Iraq: Program Director (Social Enterprise)
Country: Iraq
Closing date: 15 Oct 2013
SUMMARY: Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development, is currently recruiting Program Director candidates for a two-year program in Iraq aimed at advancing war widows’ access to livelihoods and social assistance programs through the transformation of local non-governmental organizations (LNGOs) into social enterprises via capacity building and investment. The two-tracked program will thus focus on strengthening the institutional systems of LNGOs currently providing livelihoods and/or social assistance programming to war widows, as well as empowering ‘change agents’ within these LNGOs to implement their ideas for bringing these services to scale sustainably. The long-term impact of the program will be that war widows, including victims of gender-based violence (GBV), are better able to build their livelihoods and social capital because these services are offered at higher scale and more sustainably via social enterprises. The position will be based in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.
