Programme Manager – DIPECHO VII

Project Summary:
ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB), in partnership with five other INGOs (Concern Universal, Concern Worldwide, Islamic Relief, Oxfam GB, Solidarities International), has initiated a concerted Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Humanitarian Assistance program under one umbrella consortium, NARRI (National Alliance for Risk Reduction Initiative). NARRI strives to ensure that different development actors work together for better synergy and effectiveness from local to national levels in order to enhance the capacities of communities and institutions to overcome various natural disasters. ActionAid Bangladesh, with support from the European Commission Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid – DG ECHO, is implementing a disaster risk reduction project in Bangladesh that aims to enhance the capacities of communities and institutions to overcome various natural disasters and mobilize communities and institutions for effective risk reduction.
Key responsibilities include (not limited to)
? Overall project coordination, technical guidance and management of the project implementation and project team. ? Oversee the financial management, prepare and provide activity plans and donor reports as per requirements? Identify and support partners in capacity building and enhancement of DRR related skill? Regular update and liaison with donors and other internal functions, such as HR, Finance and AAB management on project activities and maintain coordination with NARRI Secretariat ? Monitor and follow up project activities to ensure quality output of the project activities ? Responsible for coordination with national and international stakeholders
RelationshipsS/he will report to the Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/he will maintain functional relationships with AAB’s Programme, Policy and Campaigns Directorate, Programme Quality and Impact Directorate, Finance and Admin, HROD, Internal Audit and others. S/he is also expected to maintain functional relationships with his/her peers in the project implementation and management teams. The incumbent is expected to liaise and network with ActionAid International / Federation and other Country Programmes. S/he is expected to maintain relationships with relevant government and non government agencies at the national level and local partners and other stakeholders at the local level.
Required qualification and competenciesWe seek a candidate with a minimum 5 years of project management experience related to DRR and emergencies, along with a post graduate degree in the relevant field. Person must have International DRR experience and those who have experience to work in national and international DIPECHO project as Project/Programme Manager will be given preferences. . The candidate must have a broad development vision, experience in dealing with donor accountability, managing diverse teams, and coordinating partner organizations, along with excellent financial and communication skills in English.
