International Aid Worker
Our international aid workers are ordinary people with extraordinary qualities. They are passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable people and embracing new experiences and challenges every day. Our professional aid workers say there is no other job quite like it. That’s why they are committed to the Red Cross movement and continue to return overseas to work in development and humanitarian response.
Australian Red Cross maintains a talent pool of suitably qualified and experienced professionals who are called upon to deploy to international locations in times of need.
We are currently recruiting to strengthen our capacity to respond to the needs of people who have been made vulnerable by disaster or conflict. Do you have skills and experience in:
• Water and sanitation
• Program design, monitoring and evaluation
• Orthotics & prosthetics
Further to possessing one of these specialisations, you will ideally:
• Be willing to commit to assignments for a minimum of 1 year
• Have had experience working in remote locations
• Have proven experience in generalist management including finance, human resources, training, contract negotiation and change management.
If you are committed to the principles of the Red Cross movement, we encourage you to apply to join our Delegate talent pool. Applications are assessed through a thorough recruitment process which includes both technical and behavioural components. Successful candidates are then required to attend the International Mobilisation Preparation for ACTion (IMPACT) course.
