South Africa: Start up Manager
Pact desires to rapidly mobilize within the first 30 days of signing major contracts. In order to do so, Pact is seeking top consultants to support the initial start-up phase of large projects. Roles will differ slightly in terms of both the scope and the length of assignment depending on the specific nature of the project. Individuals must be available to be deployed on short notice. Strong project management skills will be vital, including leading a start-up team by coordinating personnel, liaising with the donor, civil society organizations, government authorities and various implementing partners. The consultant will oversee all operational and programmatic tasks until the Chief of Party arrives in-country.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
Overall project/process management
Develop/implement work plans
Budget management
Engage with key stakeholders (donors, government, beneficiaries, partners)
Interface with technical experts
Lead and facilitate meetings
Qualifications:
Experience with U.S. Government donors (especially USAID)
Contract experience is preferred
Knowledge of capacity development and governance programming is a plus
Monitoring & evaluation knowledge is a plus
Strong ability to read and write in English is a must
Work experience in various countries and languages is desirable
Must be able to start on short notice
Must be able to work with a diverse team
